1) Soho: Vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli and her partner Samantha Wasser opened the third location of their insanely popular restaurant By Chloe today (the duo also runs a dessert-only shop called Sweets By Chloe). The new restaurant serves dishes made popular at the Bleecker Street original like a veggie "meatball" sandwich, avocado toast, and a taco salad. Like the Flatiron location, By Chloe Soho is open for breakfast during the week. Status: Certified Open; 240 Lafayette Street

2) FiDi: Brothers Jerry and Telly Liberatos recently opened Sauce & Barrel, an Italian-American pizzeria on Washington Street. Running the kitchen of the bi-level, 150-seat restaurant is chef Mike Paez who previously worked in the kitchens of La Sirena, Eataly, and Betony. Menu highlights include tagliatelle bolognese, a pizza topped with candied tangerine and gorgonzola, and a spicy chicken sandwich. Sauce & Barrel’s beverage program is created by Jack Zemke, a veteran of The Modern and Betony. Status: Certified Open; 97 Washington Street, 212-480-6800

3) Dumbo: Casual American mini-chain Westville opened its first Kings County location late last month. Like the other Westvilles, Westville Dumbo is offering a rotating menu of vegetable-focused dishes. Expect itmes like a quinoa and artichoke burger; a quinoa bowl served with Brussels sprouts, squash, and spinach; and a chicken BLT. Food from Westville Dumbo is also available for delivery. Status: Certified Open; 81 Washington Street, 718-618-5699

4) Midtown: A fast-casual spinoff of Soho Mexican restaurant La Esquina opened this week after a few months of delays. The menu at La Esquina Taqueria is smaller than its Soho counterpart but still includes popular options like carnitas tacos, a chicken quesadilla, and a variety of tortas. Unlike the original, there is no subterranean brasserie at this location. Status: Certified Open; 200 West 55 Street

5) Clinton Hill: Smorgasburg favorite Bon Chovie has a new brick and mortar location on Fulton Street in Brooklyn. According to DNAInfo, the fried fish restaurant closed its Bay Ridge location last month to make way for opening in Clinton Hill. The menu includes popular items from the original location and the Smorgasburg stand including a surf & turf burger, fried fish tacos, and their namesake fried anchovies. 6) Forest Hills: Yogi-turned-restaurateur Rene David Alkalay took over the Metropolitan Avenue space that was most recently home to Wafa’s Mediterranean. Dubbed Heartbeet Eatery, the restaurant offers a variety of vegan, organic, and kosher foods. Options on the menu include a black bean burger, butternut squash bisque, and sushi options like a tofu, scallion, and carrot roll. Status: Certified Open; 100-05 Metropolitan Avenue, 718-374-3129

7) Crown Heights: Restaurateur Mayumi Maeda opened her Kickstarter-funded cafe earlier this month, according to DNAInfo. The Japanese-inspired menu at Cafe Cotton Bean (which is limited at the moment) is offering coffee from Parlor Coffee, matcha drinks, and homemade parsley juice. Maeda is also serving food options like a bacon, egg, and cheese; a salmon and ricotta sandwich; and pastries like a chocolate croissant. Status: Certified Open; 1077 Bergen Street

8) Upper West Side: The meatball makers at Polpette recently opened a second Upper West Side location, taking over the former home of Bella Giardino. Besides meatballs, which are served on sliders, sandwiches, and spaghetti, as well as just sauce, the menu also includes options like steamed mussels, fettuccine carbonara, chicken Milanese, and eggplant parm. Status: Certified Open; 71 West 71 Street, 212-875-1512

9) East Village: Holiday pop-up bars Miracle on Ninth Street and Sippin' Santa's Surf Shack are back this year, taking over Mace and Boilermaker, respectively. At Miracle, head bartender Nico De Soto is using festive ingredients like frankincense, gingerbread, and chocolate gelt. 10) East Village: Last week, Maui Onion was New York’s newest poke opening. This week, it’s Poke Village on East 14th Street. Aside from bowls of poke, Poke Village is offering Korean fried chicken wings, pork buns, and a tofu burrito. According to EV Grieve, the fast-casual poke restaurant took over Savings Paradise which earlier this year merged with its neighbor IQ Decor. Status: Certified Open; 250 East 14 Street, 212-717-1699
